The Stuff We Like Social Network!

I’m generally not the one for social networking, considering how they are generally filled with crap from colourful varieties. Then again, perhaps it has something to do with my hate of anything mainstream, and considering how popular these things are getting, my hate for them shall grow even more!

Dave has come up with a social network for Stuff We Like, the entertainment blog destined for eternal internet greatness. It is located here, and is hosted by Ning. It has very few members right now, but do not forget that the more members join, the awesomer the network becomes.

Songza is great

Found songza on the January 2008 edition of PC Magazine (which I got off mininova, of course). It’s pretty much the an audio search engine and player, somewhat similar to the classic SingingFish and the existing Spool.fm, which I think I will now sadly leave in favour of Songza.

Songza has an excellent design that is both different and simplistic, with a strong hint of Web 2.0 fashion. It’s giving me songs that Spool doesn’t, so I suppose I will be using Songza for all my random music-listening and previewing moments. Sorry, Spool.

Switch to Fastladder

I finally convinced myself to get a real feed reader and not rely on Firefox’s in-built RSS reader and the Boox extension. The two make a good pair, but my demands are exceeding the resources. I did a tour on some web-based readers, steering away from major corporations all the while.

Fastladder is nice – it’s aesthetically good, easy to use, and rather comfortable. Setting it up doesn’t take a long while and it’s fun! Hope I use it for a while.
