We sail across horizons eternally,
lost in a destiny cursed
by the grey mists of time’s demise.
We walk forever in a reverie sacred,
dreaming for this one cup of wine,
that shall one day cure us of these ills and sins,
and perhaps then we will be free.
But more horizons call, and my eyes still see far
there is an endless sky above and one more life left
my love grows darker as I sail past this sphere unchallenged,
and perhaps there still is a loving heart in this body marred
that beats the blood of freedom and a life too sparse to sift,
born in a battlefield of death and time, we sail this junction of eternity.
Breaking my chains is the task of giants and they are too far now to see,
and yet in the land of multitude I find myself alienated from the darkening mist
this peaceful welcome is the whisper of the field, perhaps not broken by the wind’s crying
Valiant men, all dead behind my wake now climb a rotting corpse of a tree,
but the lord of evil has forsaken this land for a return to his abode of shame
Oh God, I pray to your sacred bounty to bless me with the sword to cleave this growing war.
And then I long for the welcome song to take me back to my ancestral palace,
one of gaiety and lost memories imprinted into the fabric of time
and I realize the futility of His works, for I see before me the ruins and ravages of a time gone past
And I turn to love, the one last god on Earth that may forsake this soul in disgrace,
And perhaps you will understand what I ask of you, to break my chains of eternity
To bring me to a light where I am as broken as the rest of this fractured universe.
