One morning, as Gregor Samsa was waking up from anxious dreams, he discovered that in his bed he had been changed into a monstrous verminous bug.
But what is epic here? I had expected one of Kafka’s long sentences, entire paragraphs. There is even one about somebody watching a circus girl riding, and it is a story all in one sentence. I’d not call it epic, though.
It is epic because Gregor Samsa had been changed into a goddamn verminous bug.
